Earth Hour

Saturday, March 28, 2009

What activities can you sacrifice even for just an hour? I pledge not to use my computer (which is the source of my income) for one whole hour to support The Earth Hour. I'd turn off our lights and my ever reliable PC to help save mother Earth.

Let's all give an hour of our busy lives to mother Earth, remember to turn off your lights tonight, 8:30 PM till 9:30 PM (March 28, 2009).

My First French Toast

Friday, March 27, 2009

I had this crazy idea the other night about a new business opportunity. See, when we moved here our loading business is not earning much compared when we were in Pasig. For almost two weeks here we only had one customer asking for a load. So, I decided to change our business strategy, instead of focusing ourselves in the loading business why not add a mini resto business. Our garage is so big that it can fit two cars, since we don't have a car yet why waste the space, right?

For starters I'll serve gourmet sandwiches that I really love preparing but never had the time to do so. I will also serve fries and finger food like chicken wings and nachos. For the drinks, I was thinking I would never serve softdrinks, instead, I'll serve fruit shakes and gulaman and sago, then if the business grow bigger then probably I'd serve frappucino just like what starbucks' offer.

I'm just at the dreaming stage, but then hubby made me realize it would take time before we get to that stage. First, I'd need a bigger fridge, a table for my toaster, blender and microwave oven, ofcourse I'd need a table and some chairs for the customers. Thinking about it, I'd probably save first and buy the stuff before really pushing through with my plans.

So, for now, I prepared my first French Toast, I liked it but it needs more improvement, and if I'm really serious about this business I should perfect the art of making sandwiches, French Toast including.

Dell Pasay bought by Teleperformance

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I'm just at awe when I heard this story from GirlTalk that Dell Pasay was sold to Teleperformance to a whopping amount of 200+ Million Pesos.

I used to work Dell Libis, spent over a year as a DOC agent and I can say that next to Etelecare, Dell handled their employees pretty well. It's been a year since I resigned and I still can't believe it because the last time I went to Dell Pasay was when I took my final pay, it was back in November last year.

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about Dell Philippines getting bankrupt and all, but I never thought that they would actually sell Dell Pasay, as many asked, "why Teleperformance?".

Now the next question is: What will happen to Dell Libis?

Orbit Xylitol Food Tour

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I was just browsing my friendster pics, going back the memory lane after a tiring walk in SM Marilao, when I saw my Orbit Xylitol Food Tour album, until I remembered, this post is due last year but I didn't get the chance to post it because I was probably so busy working.

Anyway, it all started with the only forum I had the patience to join in to, GirlTalk. There's this thread where you can get so many freebies here and abroad. Someone posted a link where I can just register online and wait till I win something. It was supposedly free lunch for two but I didn't really expect anything. After a couple of weeks somebody called me informing me that I won in their contest and I should submit some documents to confirm my identity. At that time I could not remember a thing, until they mentioned Orbit Xylitol which rang a bell. I did send the documents they needed and my hubby's. By the way you can find the list of winners here, luckily they still have it on their site.

I waited for nearly a week until that Saturday came, I can't remember the exact date though. Hubby and I went to Serendra in Bonifacio Streets without expecting anything. There was a registration infront of Cuillere and some photoshoot. We even hesitated to order at first thinking that they might ask us to pay for our drinks, since the first stop was just Milkshake. Until they served the milkshake, we got surprised when they served the Tenderloin Tips, Croque Madame for appetizers, Codfish Croquettes and the best milkshake on earth, the Carabao Milkshake.

After a very sumptuous meal at Cuillere we were then brought to Makati, where the Steak Room is waiting for us. Actually when we reached the Steak Room I no longer have the room for the biggy steak they offered but I still gave it after looking at the price list of their steaks and finding out that a single slice of their steak costs nearly 2K pesos, just imagine a once in a lifetime chance to eat there. They also served salad, which tastes like ginger, and the soup which they called onion soup but doesn't taste like onion at all.

After a great time in Steak Room we were brought to a wine pairing at Galileo Enotica. I enjoyed their wine, cold cuts and their cheese, but since I was so full I never had the chance to drink more than a glass of red wine. I just enjoyed the somehow "Food Party" provided by Wrigley's and the coverage of the Lifestyle Channel. I also got the chance to see the commercial from our cable TV.

Thanks Wrigley's for such a wonderful time with all the free food. Till the next food trip.

Aia's Kakulitan

It's been a week yesterday since we moved to the new house. Instead of celebrating it we started out the day with Aia's kakulitan. It started out when last Sunday I noticed that I can't let her roam the garage because she can easily get out through the small openings in the gate.

So, what I did, I placed the plastic bubble wrap I used for the computer and cover all the small openings in the gate so she won't get out. Until yesterday she managed to take them down.

As part of her "parusa", while I'm giving her a bath I put a "sipit" on her ears and tail. I initially placed them where she could easily get them off. Until late in the afternoon I noticed that she no longer wags her tail and around 7 PM I noticed blood on the floor. I checked her out without touching her tail and I noticed that there's still one left on her tail near the "pwet".

We tried everything we can to get it off but I guess it hurts really bad that she attempts to bite off anyone's hand who touches her tail. Upon seeing the blood, I got really scared that it might be due the "sipit" I put her. My brother and I hurriedly brought her to the nearest vet outside the village and they gladly openned for us though it's a little late.

There, Aia got angry whenever we try to place a muzzle on her mouth, she would really attempt to get the leash out of her and run away, good thing the clinic is really big. We couldn't even get her weight because she would strangle every time we do it.

Because we are running out of options I decided to ask the nurse if it's okay to sedate a dog. She called the doctor to ask for an opinion and so we did. It was hard to keep her calm and that's our only option. We waited for sometime, as the nurse would tell her "wag mo nang labanan". After around 10 minutes she's already calm and we easily placed the muzzle on her face and finally, we got the "sipit" off her tail.

We checked her tail and found the wound quite far from where the "sipit" is. I believe since she can't reach the "sipit", she just bites her tail to somehow ease the discomfort of the "sipit". The nurse put betadine on the wound and because Aia's dozed off I had to carry her back home.

Lesson learned for me, I promise to never put anything to Aia and endanger her life. I love her so much and I'd give anything to keep her longer. She's my companion and my baby.

Finally, Moved...

Sunday, March 15, 2009

After a very hectic and tiring move, we are now in Bulacan, finally, whew.. It's as if we traveled all the way to Baguio from Manila with so much excess baggage, hehe. The place is far from the convenient Pasig, far from the very busy streets of Mercedes and San Miguel, but I can say it's all worth it.

We are now situated in our very own home, with a two car garage, our very own huge room, great kitchen, and a lavatory. Really really nice. We've already spent our first 24 hours here and so far all we had we're just minor issues. We'll be able to set up our internet connection pretty soon.

FMCC shirts

Finally, my hubby finally bought the shirt he wanted. We now have the FMCC shirts. Check out Bebe's and my shirt.

One Love

3 Stars and a Sun

Authentic

Our last day in Pasig

Wow, after almost four years in Pasig City we're now moving to Bulacan. I never imagined myself living outside of Pasig, but this opportunity came and we can't miss it. We can now live comfortably in Bulacan with a big house and a quiet environment. Ofcourse without the perks Pasig had always been known for, still we will find the opportunity to navigate through the different places in Bulacan and find an alternative.

I think it just came out as a spontaneous decision for us both, right after the wedding, we thought of something we can do, another project. We first thought of buying a bigger fridge, but then there's not much space in our itsy bitsy apartment that can accomodate a bigger one. Next, we thought of replacing our tiny sala set, but then again, the space, always the space. So, we thought of, since we hardly go outside the convenience of our home and we really don't mind travel time, being late, etc, why not we try to find a home that can fit all of our appliance and we can live comfortably without the hussling and buzzling noise of the city.

We tried the world wide web for answers, we went to sulit.com.ph, buyandsellph.com, moveinthecity.com, and even craigslist.com. Until we found this tiny add in buyandsell.ph about a certain home for rent in Bulacan. So, we did call the phone number listed and we we're asked to call back. We did after a few hours and I spoke with the owner, ate Nida, she was very nice and accomodating, she invited us to view the apartment the next day. I can hear from her voice that she's not very confident that we're interested, who on earth would want to live in Bulacan if you're already in the the business district.

After a few talks with Jeff we finally decided to try to check out the house. We also found another ad, this time in olx.com, which is a townhouse for rent, it has pictures on the add and the best part is, it's also in Bulacan. So a day after we headed out to Bulacan to check these two houses. Since Jeff is pretty much not used to travelling for more than a hour, I can see that he's a little aggravated with the situation. But upon seeing the house, we're both surprised that it's inexpensive and still, it's in an executive village. We also got interested with the townhouse but it's much more expensive compared to the house.

We really talked about it and our decision was final, we're taking the inexpensive one. We realized, if we are to move to a new house, in Bulacan, we need to be sure that it's compensating the fact that we're no longer in a city part of Metro Manila, and living in an expensive townhouse will not make thing better.

So, here we are, painfully packing our things and awaiting for the big day, tomorrow. I think we almost have everything ready. I already booked for a 6W truck for only 3,000 pesos with two helpers, bought some stuff that I know the house would really need. Like a shower curtain, some concrete nails and hooks. We just need to make sure that we get everything ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon. We're outahere by three..

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Exactly one week ago when the Master Rapper passed away. Since then, Jeff had been so passionate trying to get at least a shirt from three stars and a sun, hoping that somehow FM will not be forgotten and somehow we can help him unite the country in our own little ways. WE LOVE YOU FRANCIS M.

    Monday, March 9, 2009

Today we went to Francis M.'s wake, it was very solemn there, maybe because it was just around 7AM when we went there. There were at least 5-7 men and women in uniform within the vicinity of Christ the King and one even reminded me not to take pictures, I obliged of course, out of respect for Francis M. My hubby saw Maxine and said that she looks really tired, while I saw one reporter there who was speaking with one of Francis' sons. There were not much people that time, maybe 5-10 people who went there were his fans, wearing their baggy jeans and bling blings. Some came in groups and some were just alone with their small prayers for FM. He's at peace now, at least that's what I saw in his face, no hatred, no fear. He's now with our Lord and we're happy that his suffering had ended. WE LOVE YOU FRANCIS M.

    Our New Place

    Sunday, March 8, 2009

This is just to show you how our new home looks like. I know, I know, this is really far from the usual Pasig we've always lived in. It's way way far from the very convenient place that we started from. We will have to adjust not to go out late at night just to get something to eat. I didn't see any McDonalds, 711 or MiniStop near the area but I guess this is one sacrifice that we can do just to get a very convenient house, very nice looking and so much affordable.

    Check out the pictures.

Gloc 9, Andrew E and Dice and K9's Tribute

    Saturday, March 7, 2009

Today we all feel saddened by the death of Francis M. His death brought out so many talented people he helped and had touched his life in Eat Bulaga earlier today. One of which is the song Lando where Gloc 9, Andrew E and K9 sang. It touched me so deeply especially seeing Gloc 9 cry out his feelings about FM's death. Please check out this link in youtube.

    Francis M

    Friday, March 6, 2009

I dunno what title I should give it but the whole thing came as a surprise, my husband and I were just watching this noontime show until they all came back from some commercials and we noticed that there was a commotion, almost everyone were crying and my husband said immediately, "patay na si Francis M". I didn't really believe it until it came out of Vic Sotto's lips. We were both startled with the news and had to keep saying "Oh my God" until it finally sinked in. Indeed, he passed away this noon and it came as a shock. He's one of the best in the industry and I'm pretty sure he'll be remembered for his goodness.

I also came across his multiply site, feel free to to check it out and say your goodbyes.
