Creepy

Sunday, September 30, 2012

I had this eerie experience the other night and I was wanting not to share it but I really have to. This happened about two nights ago when I was working for the night shift. I was so engrossed with what I was working on when I had the urge to go out of the office to get something to drink. When I opened the door, the sala and dining area smells really stinky, more like a smell of a nearly rotting fish placed somewhere very near that I can smell it.

I have this habit of leaving the main door opened since we have a gated fence and two huge dogs so I have been totally lax about it until that night. After I drank water I went back to the room then realized that it isn't normal, I immediately went out of the office again and that stinky smell was still there, I immediately checked my husband then closed and locked all the doors. I didn't bother checking the service gate but I'm sure it is locked. Then the dogs and I went back to the office and boy was I surprised. In the office, I have this window being covered by a huge Winnie the Pooh calendar. It's supposedly covered with a curtain but I still didn't have the time to go Divisoria to buy a rod and a curtain so I had it partially (still with some gaps on the side) covered by this huge calendar. Now, that calendar was somehow moved, as if someone tried to grab something from the outside in. It was creepy, but I just thought it was just probably me, I might have moved it, I just didn't notice it.

We're only on our second month in this house and I'm not hoping for surprises like what I experienced. Thank God it hasn't happened again since. But it reminded me to never be too comfortable, even in your own home because you'll never kno what's really out there, especially at night.

My Birthday Celebration - 2012

Friday, September 28, 2012

I decided to spend my 32nd year of existence with my family. We started it out with lunch in our favorite resto, Gerry's Grill then went Manila Ocean Park where we all enjoyed the wonderful sceneries  of the ocean world then went to Star City to enjoy the theme park's different attraction. It felt like my brother and sister were kids again. They were still very young when we last went there as a family and I'm glad Jeff was there to spend it with us.

Letter to my 12-year old Self

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I have been hooked to watching How I Met Your Mother and one particular episode that caught my attention was when Marshall wrote a letter to his younger self. Which inspired me to write to my 12 year old self. Can't imagine that it has been 20 years already.

Dear 12 year old me,

By now, you're probably excited about graduating in grade school and thinking about where to go for high school. Don't worry, mom will take care of that. But sorry to burst your bubble, high school isn't gonna be as fun-filled as you thought. You'll meet pretty amazing people and those that will inspire you through life but of course there are those that will make your life a living hell. You'll also accomplish one of your life long dream of becoming a CAT officer, it's not gonna be an easy road but you'll survive. You will graduate on time, not pregnant and still living a normal teenaged life, I assure you that.

Now college is gonna be different. You'll decide to be not like anyone else as you'll have your own identity. Survival here is not gonna be as tough not like high school. You'll meet friends who will stand by you till you're older. Trust me, They're for keeps. Treasure each and every experiences during college as this will definitely mould you into someone like me. Though you won't be partying as much as the other kids your age, college will give you more freedom than high school.

After college, this is where the fun starts but if there's one thing that I may be allowed to suggest, try to save up! There's never enough money in the world so don't do too much shopping or splurging so much on cellphones and gadgets. Anyway this is the time that you'll learn more about yourself. You will know more about your fashion sense and how crazy your hair looks like without salons and styling iron. However difficult work is, YOU WILL MANAGE. You're not the type who will aim for higher position but I guarantee that your work is exceptional.

Now let's talk about relationships. Unlike what you probably thought, you will get married before you turn 30. Yes you might say you're not attractive and all but hey you have a great personality and that's what matters most. You will meet a couple of guys along the way, cry a bit out of frustrations and heartaches but remember, life has a crazy way of telling us that there's somebody else meant for us. In time you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Oh by the way, do treasure and love your family. They will stand by you through thick and thin. Kiss mom for me.

Love,
Your 32 year old self

Giving is Humane

Thursday, September 6, 2012

For three years since 2009, my husband and I are always in the streets of Manila every December 30, to give a little of what we have to the people living in the streets. It has been a yearly event for us that started out small; a couple Kilos of spaghetti with some old clothes, about 10 Kilos of uncooked rice, some candies and little toys for the kids.

It was the year when were hit by Typhoon Ondoy, yes we were part of the thousands of victims because our old house was flooded too. But realization hit me that we're still lucky to be alive and well after the huge storm, so hubby and I started the gift giving project.

Last year, we managed to give more, about 100 people were fed, were given old clothes and some other goodies. It's great that Jeff's family and my brother helped us with the project and I encourage everyone to do the same. Giving is humane.
