Reflection and Rant (together in one)

Friday, July 10, 2009

I ended my yesterday earlier today (hhmm..), around 6AM when I ended my shift and drank a cetrizine, which the doctor required me to take right before bedtime. He said that though my ear infection is gone, he still cannot flush my ears due to the holes he found in them. Also my right ear is still extracting some liquid which I don't know what.

Anyway, due to cetrizine and my 3-hour sleep yesterday I immediately dozed off and slept like I've never slept before. I woke up around 11 AM, realizing that I missed the supposed chat with my newly acquired client at 9 AM, good thing he was still around when I went online. Until around noon we started talking about the task I just did last night. He thought it was okay, apparently he's asking to do a remote session, for some reason I didn't ask what for. So, while talking via skype he then said that I should do the task while we're on remote session on my PC and while talking via skype. Isn't that irritating? His job is not as hard as hell and I believe I can do it without him ranting and instructing me what to do.

After sometime of trying to work it out, uploading pictures in Magento encountered some error, I thank thee Magento for the glitch because I really had to eat lunch, for pete's sake it was past one already. He even blamed my PC for it, I don't mind, I just had to eat and stop the non-sense he's asking me to do. After he let go of me I immediately closed the session and ended the call, it was the most irritating work experience I've encountered, one of the reasons why I've decided to work from home is to get away from nosy bosses, but this client of mine is no exception. That's what the Odesk screen shot is for, so the clients can check if their providers are doing exactly they require.

During lunch time I took time to reflect what had just happened, he just said that the first sample jobs I did was fine enough and there's no other problem with it. So, why in the world would he watch my screen while we talk on skype and be on a scheduled job where it's just data entry, it's not even a VA task. I even asked my husband's opinion about it, mentioning that although what he did was it's still a job and we need it badly, but come to think of the situation, here I am working my ass off day and night, and yet this guy, out of no where would hire me but comes out as an irritant. It would definitely salvage whatever anti stress spells I have left.

Upon coming back from lunch I just told him I'll troubleshoot my PC and find out why Magento isn't taking any pics, but at the back of my mind I have a plan.

I slept for another 5 hours, again probably because of cetrizine, and when I woke up, I immediately wrote a letter to him, telling him that I didn't like what just happened and it's not my working style. Had I known that he'll watch my screen while I do his task I wouldn't have let him take control. It's up to him if he's still interested with my services, not to be proud of my skills, but I'm just one of the few who knows how to configure Magento and if he's not willing to compromise then I can let him go.

Hopefully God will bring back my old client Richard, he's the best there is. So, tonight I'll have to settle to my underpaid and over worked self.

Hole in Wall

Thursday, July 9, 2009

I went to the doctor this morning according to my scheduled appointment, he checked my ears again and I was so relieved to find out that the swelling is almost gone. There are still few pain once in a while and some colorless liquid coming out of my right ear but other than that I feel better than last week.

I mentioned to him that I've been having painful reaction towards the liquid medicine (I forgot the name) that I put in my ears, that happened when the swelling subsided about two days ago, so I told him I stopped using that liquid drops. The pain will only go away after an hour and I promise you it's worse than a toothache.

Upon hearing this, he checked my ears and found out that there's a hole on each ear. On the left ear he found a hole which is around 20% of the size of the ear drum, the right ear has about 5% of the size of the ear drum. That explains why every time I put the drops it gives me one hell of a pain. So, upon learning this, the doctor could not flush out my ears just yet and I'll have to wait until my ears recovers from these laceration.

Also, he noticed that these holes were not from massive cleaning and it was in fact due to the infection from God knows where. So, I guess it wasn't my fault at all. He said that I stop taking the heavily dosed medicine he gave me a week ago and just concentrate on healing my ears and stopping the infection full time. He gave me another medication which I'll take for the next ten days before bed time. I'm thinking this will really doze me off so I'll better take this before I sleep this morning.

Then I'll see my doctor again next month, however, it things get worse then I'll go back even before the one month period. I wasn't allowed to swim, I'm so sad by this, if I would then I'd have to wear something to cover my ears, but I'm so afraid it'll just worsen the case, so I'd just skip swimming for the next month.

So, I'm hoping that these ears will heal soon and I mean soon.

Level 27 on RC!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

After several months of pondering whether I should try out facebook or not I finally gave in not because my friends use it but because of the feedback I get from Restaurant City. So, last May I tried working out my restaurant, patiently waiting for my cook to get energized, trying to trade ingredients to my friends, well, most of them I don't know personally.

Now, I've reached level 27, and I've decorated it the way I imagined how my own resto should look like. So, let me give you a glimpse of Kikos Lubak Aia, where we serve fine dining food to our hungry customers. Try out our Sensational Lamb Skewers, Gourmet Lobsters and Sensational Pumpkin Pie.

Super Unexplainable Day

Saturday, July 4, 2009

This blog is created as my own personal diary, where I can share my thoughts and experiences for an extra ordinary day, to separate a quite boring life and my uber active lifestyle.

I don't have the energy to fully explain what had transpired during the day as I only got 3 hours of sleep this morning after my night shift, I'm supposed to be sleeping but these problems kept me awake and come 10PM I'll be awake for the next 8 hours. That's 21 hours straight.

I've had so many rants last June and the early part of July, now, instead of ranting let me pray to God to give me the peace of mind I've been wanting to have, the patience and the perseverance to succeed. Please take care of my family, especially my parents' health.

Also, please do guide me and Jeff in our daily decisions. I guess that would be enough for today, tomorrow is a new day and I'm hoping to recover from my ear infection soon.

Take care guys.

I'm Being Taken for Granted

Friday, July 3, 2009

Do you sometimes feel like you're being taken for granted when you don't speak up?

I now feel that I'm being taken for granted. Since I've had this ear infection I decided to keep my mouth shut because it irritates me when it hurts when I talk. I think you're all aware that the ear muscles are somehow interconnected to the jaw, thus with ear infection, I'm having a hard time chewing and talking, things I love to do.

I wanted to rant about my current boss, my task is pretty simple, wait for a customer to request for a chat, support them with whatever their concern is about then end the chat when it's resolved, isn't that easy? I thought so too. Until I got to meet the other co-employee they hired a week after they hired me. They said this girl will take the afternoon shift just before I log in, originally, this shift belonged to my hubby, or that's just what my other boss had been telling me, apparently he's not always available whenever their supposed training is about to start, this irritates me too.

Then another irritation came when during the interview process they told me that we will have to do this outside of Odesk because they're not yet aware how Odesk works, but just today, I checked that they have been registered in Odesk since 2007. For the first week I didn't tell them that I have an ear infection on my left ear, my bad, apparently this other boss of mine wants to have a skype chitchat before I start working, so I'm forced to use the CDRKing headset, which is really tight. Until the latter part of my first week I had to decline talking to him and just use speakers, I let him do the talking, and I told him about my two ears being infected.

Going back to my first rant, apparently, they introduced her to me last Wednesday, I think she's nice but not too friendly, I don't care anyway. Then hours after that meeting I decided to check out Odesk for other job offers just to update myself on what's new in the job market, and I saw her name, applying for a job, so I took the chance and browsed through her profile until I saw that she was infact hired through Odesk and guess what, her pay is more than double than what I'm supposed to have, well isn't it fun?. At first I was hoping that it's not really her and that I'm mistaken her for another Odesker, until I confirmed it straight from her the next day.

Actually, I have no issues about my salary, I mean this is what I think is reasonable for someone who's just starting in their company, but my point is, if they are able to offer bigger pay and they think I deserve it, why would they let me settle for less? Come to think of it, this girl is in the afternoon shift and I work my ass off in the night shift. It's just so odd that my boss keeps complementing me on how fast I got the work flow and still hired someone else with higher rate and let me suffer in the night shift. Arggghhhhh..

One thing more, yesterday was my second week and supposedly my payday, which they promised when they hired me. I was about to discuss it with them but the other boss logged in just to give me my passcode for the night. I also messaged my boss about my pay, only, he answered when I was already sleeping, and the irritating part is I gave him my payment method just right after I was hired, when he replied, he was asking for it again. The entire day I was waiting for them to log in, missing out few hours of sleep, heck, I need my hard earned money, two weeks in the night shift is no joke.

I was even tempted to just log out last night because of the revelations that struck me, however, I still want to give the benefit of the doubt, but where are they right now? I even spoke to the girl they hired and she said my boss logged in but went off right away and the other boss didn't log in at all. So, there.. I'm now officially being taken for granted for being so nice and polite.

To end that first part, let me talk to you about the second rant, this is about the househelp we just hired, she was very nice and so hardworking at first but lately I've been noticing that she no longer pull her ass to work and do the cleaning. I don't really tell her what to do because I think she's an intelligent househelp, or that's what she's been portraying to be and I expect that she'd do things without us telling her. I told her many times to tie the trashliner because my little pup would eat garbage when he smells it. But for some irritating reason, she would not listen. Now, there are garbages in the lavatory and in the garden as well. I'm beginning to hate her. I just cannot force myself to speak to her because of my current condition. I don't want to add more stress to what I'm feeling now.

These people would really see who I am when I'm angry and I'm not gonna let them do these things to me just because I don't speak up.

Magic 89.9 Reminiscing

Monday, June 29, 2009

It's been more than a decade since I became addicted to Magic 89.9 (radio station), it was my summer vacation from my first year in college and I had nothing to do at home so decided to tune in to Magic.

I was a fan of Cadillac Jack (DJ) whose shift starts at 9PM and ends at 12MN. Aside from the usual music he plays during the night there were topics where we can share our two cents and this is where I would usually call and share my rants and raves.

Also, aside from tuning in to CJ (this is what I call him) I also make it a point to join different contests, where I won several tickets to movies and even a trip for two to a beach resort in Batangas (I forgot the name), since the only mode of communication back then is the telephone I'd usually keep our landline in my room so I could call them anytime there's a contest.

It was a great experience knowing the DJs of Magic, aside from CJ I've also met a few that I became friends with. Apparently I became so busy with school and new friends that somehow I lost touch with my Magic friends but I still make it a point to listen to them once in a while.

Now that I'm working from home and usually left here in the office without TV or radio every night (I work on a night shift), I decided to check out Magic's site and alas I found out that they already have their own radio portal, just click this link to listen live. I guess this is their way to reach other Magic listeners all over the globe. Enjoy.

Welcome Home MJ

Saturday, June 27, 2009

MJ who? That's our new baby, our very own ride. I know I know she's just a second hand owner type jeep, but still, she's our very own first ride. She's one of the dearest possession we have right now and we promise to take care of her, very well.

We got her through Jeff's cousin who knew someone selling it. Since they're pretty much friends, the owner decided to give the jeep to us, though it's just 1/3 of the way of being paid. We bought her battery and gas and we're just trying to fix the documents, come Monday, it'll be registered to Jeff's name.

We already tried it yesterday, he drove me to the clubhouse to pay our water bill and the monthly home owner's dues. Though I know Jeff is still nervous about driving, heck, this is his time to shine and practice really well in driving, who knows we might be able to go to Baclaran come August or September.

Anyway, here are some of his pictures with MJ, by the way, we named her MJ to remember the Michael Jackson's death, same day we got MJ.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Thursday, June 25, 2009

We went to MOA earlier today to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen through IMAX. It was uber expensive for P400, I'm not really used to paying that much for movies.

Anyway, the theater was great, they offered 2D (wide screen) of the film and it was well worth it. I find the movie overflowing with new characters and still great moves from the autobots.

We were nearly late because the movie starts at 10:15AM and we got there 10:12AM. Only 3 minutes to purchase our tickets, but the queue lasted longer than they expected so they had to adjust the time to 10:30AM, just right on time when we reached our seats, it started to play.

It was overwhelming but I still have so many questions. Though I wouldn't want to be the spoiler here, trust me, it's worth your hard earned money.

Dance With My Father

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

This is somehow a late post for Father's Day last Sunday. However, I felt like I really have to.

It had been a roller coaster life with my family. There were fights between my father and mother that I wished I never witnessed, so many tears were shed when I was little, which made me stronger, apparently a heart of stone for both of them.

Slowly I realized how wonderful it is to have them both while I try to build my own family with Jeff.

Though this year was traumatic, finding out Papa's condition with his gall bladder, which was removed months ago through surgery, now, he's facing yet another problem with his kidney stones. I wish he's here so we could get him to the hospital again and be checked, I wish we could do something for him to ease his pain.

I don't want to wake up finding out we're too late in showing him how we love him and how we care for him. For Papa, I miss you so much and please have yourself checked or go home again and we'd take care of you. I love you.

Just one last thing, I saw this video on youtube and I'd like to share this with you. Happy Father's Day to all fathers in the world.

HouseHelp

Monday, June 22, 2009

Finally, after months of patiently waiting for a much needed house help, she's finally here. Thanks to my ever reliable mother in law, she got Mylene to work for us. She's from Quezon (province) and same as my age and I'm hoping things are gonna be better with her working for us. I've been having troubles with household chores since I became very busy working (from home). Now, I hope she can really do the job I'd love to do but can't afford to.

I'll start briefing her tomorrow morning. I'm crossing my fingers for a good relationship with her, see, it's my first time to ever get a house help, all of us in the family are trained to work the household chores, but with all my tasks at hand I doubt if I can still handle doing the chores. Anyway, I'd work very hard to pay for her salary.

Ungrateful - Random Rants

Saturday, June 20, 2009

I was keeping my cool for a couple of days now since "the incident" happened. I don't want to go deeper and I won't name names but honestly, I'm fuming with anger as I type this blog.

First of, when a task is given to you, it means you have to work hard and be determined to prove that you're worthy of the work entrusted to you. You were given the luxury to use your cellphone in between work and maybe chat a little "while" working, all we're asking is that "you" get it done correctly.

Next, it was "you" who came to us asking for help, not the other way around and you don't even have the courtesy to thank "us" who gave you what you needed.

Then, when we tell you that you made a mistake, don't take it personally. Instead of being defensive, why not ask us what you did wrong and try to make up for it. Don't act as if it's our freaking responsibility to constantly tell you what to do when you're already trained for the task. As you have always narrated to us, you're not a f*cking kid anymore.

Our clients didn't even know that we pass our jobs to you, so it's you're responsibility to take care of it and ask us if you think you're not doing it correctly. Again, you asked for help and we gave you what you need.

When you were told that there were a lot of mistakes in the document you made, you were so all out defensive and even had the guts to shout, whoa, that's very responsible of you. I think you even heard that what you did made us lose that client and you have no remorse, you just kept chatting and doing God knows what.

Next, when you left that morning without telling us, didn't you even realize that you left the door open? Who knows what could have happened to us the time you left. That's very irresponsible of you, don't you think?

Our life is no fairytale, we work our ass off to get food to our table, to feed you during your 1 month stay, to pay the bills and get our savings back up and running again. We don't stay at home just to log in to friendster or facebook or even chat with our friends, because almost all the time, we try to keep our life afloat by getting more jobs, this is no joke.

You're not a kid anymore, you can even start a family of your own but you won't take responsibility for your own life.

Today, Jeff was there at your home and you didn't even say sorry, does the freaking word scare the hell out of you huh?

And somebody even had the guts to brand Jeff as "Engot" for giving the job to you, whoa, so, it's our fault now that we tried to trust you with our work? And you are all blaming us for helping you, wow, what an inconsiderate act.

It's so sad that the guy all of you are belittling is my husband, because it's not acceptable. You never have shown remorse, never said sorry and all. If you had been my brother and you did that to me infront of my husband I would have slapped you so hard that you'll forget where you are. I think you should be thankful Jeff is kind enough not to throw you away that night because if I were him, the minute you shouted at me would be the minute your clothes and stuff is at the garage burning.

I'll only tell you this once, I never wanted to see your freaking face ever again. Jeff could forgive you, yes, because he has a good heart but never again that you'll step into this house, you ingrate. You're the most ungrateful person I've ever met in my entire life.

Kitchen Nightmares by Gordon Ramsay

Friday, June 19, 2009

I've just recently discovered a show that brings a capital F to *uck. It's the first time I've seen this show, probably because for the past months that we moved here we don't have our own cable subscription due to village restrictions, and unfortunately we don't have P6000 to have our own satellite cable (damn those satellites).

The show is all about the reality of life when establishing your own restaurant. Aside from the normal flaw of relationships between owner and staff, this show uncovers the truth on how our succulent food is prepared. It also reflects the sad facts that restaurants are shutting down not just the general fact that their food's taste is not even close to that of McDonalds, but because of bad management from the owners.

I'm beginning to get addicted that I'm beginning to really show passion for food and how it's prepared. This show really helps a lot of hungry young businessmen with how to properly manage a good restaurant, not just managerial wise but also with the quality of food they serve.

Have a look of this video I got from youtube, this is one of my favorites.

Repost from Bang's Blog

Early today I had the urge to check my other email account and found out that Bang (a friend and a colleague from Dell) created this blog and it had my name on it, oh well, I'll repost it here.

hi-five

It just hit me last night how lucky I am that I work from home, maybe because it was raining so hard and thinking I don’t have go out and hail for a cab to go to work.As I look back to the days when I was still a corporate slave you will always hear me say..”Can I just go home and still get my pay” funny it is but who would think this would happen for me.. I guess everything starts with a dream or in my case, whining (lol). It all started last year when my teammate Joan (“jown” – hi gel!) told me what she read on a forum about a home-based work. I was skeptical at first thinking is it possible? Questions starts to rumble in my head coz I know I want it but will it be worth it? As I kept on debating with my thoughts Joan learned about the glorified job and began working with some projects. Everyday I see her come to work looking wasted but was excited of how she’s doing so far with her odd job(not so odd for me now huh). Then one day she told me she was resigning.. Inggitera that I am applied for a dsl line and baam!… Im there. I cant say I enjoy having just a few hours of sleep but I know one day everything will pay off and true enough it did I resigned a few months ago. Now, I enjoy working while I laze around my couch lol watching tv and most of all I can stop if I want to. I thank God the most for not letting cynicism ruin my dreams I thought it was all a “moo point” but now its all worth it. Whoever is interested to be part of my funky work-world (if there’s such a word) just let me know and ill help you guys out.. hi-five! tata!

for a start check out these sites…

Another Ear Infection

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

I started having ear infection back in my high school days. I've got this addiction of cleaning my ear on a daily basis, whenever I get stressed or irritated I pamper myself through cleaning my ears, I dunno why. I find myself getting relaxed when I do this.

Anyway, one time when I was trying to sleep I then felt pain inside my ear on the jaw line. It was so painful that my mom had to bring me to a hospital to be checked. We found out that it's an ear infection due to massive cleaning of the inner core. It took me a good 2 weeks to finally heal and several weeks after I tried to avoid my addiction.

Back in college I've had it again, every time it happens I always get scolded by the doctor that I must not clean the inside core, and never on a daily basis. I guess I'm not over the addiction because until now, I think on a yearly basis, it still hurts. Now, I'm beginning to hate cotton buds and I'm planning to throw them all away.

When it hurts I love to pound my head on the wall just to ease the pain, sometimes I can't sleep because of it. I'm just thankful my right ear is still okay. And one more thing, the liquid that I pour on my ear, it's even painful than the pain caused by the infection.

So, I'm hoping to get rid of this infection soon, before it's too late...

Why BF?

Sunday, June 14, 2009

This is more of a politically inclined post, as we all know election is just around the corner and is coming pretty fast and many have shown interest in running for the highest position, as the presidential seat is up for grabs (hopefully before CON-ASS succeeds).

I've never been so interested with politics, probably because I give no damn with speeches that has zero action, because I do know everyone in the government is corrupt, because I've heard and experienced a lot to support my non-government connection goal.

Though I was forced to vote like 5 years ago, it didn't really sink in that it was a responsibility, it was more of a right. You're given the right to vote and the right to choose not to. However, as I probably have mentioned before to some of my friends, if ever BF (Bayani Fernando) would run for the president's seat then I'll probably give him a chance.

So, my friends would ask, why him? Is is because of the pink fences (I'm so in love with pink btw)? Some would say he's corrupt too, then I'd ask, who's not?

I mean, everyone in the government is corrupt, they just vary in the complexity of their corruption. I've heard numerous scandalous transactions regarding the government and their mini projects. Would turn out that they're spending millions just to put up a 4-storey building for a public school, where in reality, it just worth hundred thousands.

So, going back to the BF thing, him being a GMA follower doesn't change my ideas of him, that's his perception. Okay, he's trying to change the world, that's what I see in him. He probably saw a chance for Filipinos to change, things that I could not see anymore, probably trying to bring back the discipline we lost since we ousted Ex-President Marcos (I'm not Pro-Marcos, I'm just pointing out that somehow that Martial Law brought the disciplined Filipinos and went astray with Ex-President Aquino's regime).

It's not just about the pink fences, the foot bridge (which I think is a really good idea, especially in Edsa, I've seen a huge change since I started commuting from Valenzuela to Pasig in 2002), the MMDAs (though there are still good for nothing MMDAs) and clearing operation in bangketas' (supposedly for pedestrians but they turned out to be a selling venue for unregistered vendors before Bayani came).

He's trying to change the world by simply not going with the flow, no one has ever done things he did, nobody tried because they're afraid of what people would say, in return, people won't vote. know he's not gonna win, I don't think people in the squatters area would give a single vote for him because they don't understand that he's doing his job and they should do theirs so they don't have to squat. I know people in the province wouldn't know what he's trying to do in the Metro but they're still capable of voting, but then again, if ever I'll vote this coming election I wouldn't waste my time, money for transporation and my one single vote to someone I think is not worth my 6 years of waiting for some action (hate speeches).

So there, BF may not seem the superhero type, he's probably using us as labrats for all the rules and regulations he wants to implement, but I would love it that way than these good for nothing politicians leaving us dying and waiting after getting the presidential seat.

Go BF! You're my BF!

I hate Digitel (Digit-Hell)

Sunday, June 7, 2009

We had our early dinner last night, since my brother-in-law was not here we opted to just eat out to the nearest Karinderia. After a massive dinner of my favorite chicken-barbeque we headed home, I just spent a few minutes preparing my dogs' dinner and took a bath to ready myself for the night's work.

As soon as I reach my computer, voila, my PC has no connection. Thinking that it was my fault because I didn't turn off my PC for over 24 hours, I did the necessary troubleshooting, uninstalling unnecessary games (online), connecting and disconnecting cables, and still no internet waaaaaahhhh... I was trying to get hold of Digitel's hotline (they don't have direct line to tech support) however I can't connect. So, while waiting for Jeff (he's playing NBA on his PC) to call them I just read a magazine and watched some TV shows.

After sometime, Jeff was able to get hold of an Agent, his name is Mike Dela Cruz, who said that there's a network problem and it will be corrected before midnight. Since it was just around 8:30 PM we decided to spend quality time through playing Monopoly.

Around 11:30PM before heading to bed, we decided to call back to check the exact status of the problem. Alas, we still cannot get online and the worse, this Agent, Yvan Dionisio expected that we will troubleshoot with him. I took the phone from Jeff and confronted that no good agent and demanded a supervisor, he mentioned that all supervisors are engaged in a call and that he cannot do any transfers to a supervisor. All lies Yvan, all lies, I've been calling Digitel since it was installed and there's no instance that I was deprived of a supervisor. Until finally, he probably realized that I'm not gonna quit soon, he then said that he'll transfer me to a supervisor.

I spoke with Kat Arquero, who, for 3 hours, I thought was the supervisor. All she said and kept saying during the conversation was, there was a network problem from 8 PM and was restored at 9:45 PM, incidentally, they have a "system enhancement" that started from 11 PM till 7:30 AM, which is 30 minutes after her shift, how convenient for her. And come 7:30 AM, that's the only time they'll get our details from their "system" and that's the time they'll help us. Also, this supposed supervisor I was speaking to is not at all a sup, she's just an OIC, a good for nothing OIC.

If I would've been my old self I would stay with her on the phone until 7:30 AM, because she sarcastically mentioned "Sige po, mag-antay po tayo sa phone till 7:30 AM". But the bed is slowly calling me because of a restless day so I just gave in. I did try sleeping soundly, but I can't help but think, what if the connection's still bad tomorrow, what will happen to my projects?

So, came 6:30 AM, Jeff again called Digit-Hell and voila, he spoke with Kat (biatch), who, again, is the OIC till I guess 8AM and to no avail. Sometime at 8 AM I decided to take matters into my own hands. I'll not take these things quietly, I gave them war. I got hold of Pam, I reiterated what I wanted, I want to know when are they gonna restore my connection. She didn't know a thing so I had her transfer the call to her sup, which I forgot the name.

What's irritating about this sup-gay is each and everytime he'll place me on hold he would always give me the run around, he love to use the word "Coordinate". Around 10AM, two hours after I got hold of him, and after a gazillion coordination, I asked him, what kind of coordination are you doing? Are you sending email, are you calling them? What exactly are we waiting for? These are the things I'd like to be informed of. I don't need to know that you're coordinating, I want to know the details.

Imagine yourself being in my situation, missing nearly 24 hours of supposed working hours, and after nearly 5 hours of being on hold, they'll tell you that they can't do anything until tomorrow morning, which in my calculation would be a day and a half without a connection. I honestly couldn't live that long, I mean this is our only bread and butter, this is the reason why we can pay the bills, without it, I'm not sure if I can settle with SmartBro again.

So, after staying 7 hours on the phone and doing nothing, somebody came to check the connection, imagine that, I had to turn myself into a monster just so they can fix this problem. If I didn't do it, probably, it would've taken days to get this thing fixed. Also, just a comment, they call this guy a technician, who is even at a loss. I don't about you, but techs are supposed to know their craft but this guy, I doubt.

So, that's my story, that's how inefficient and unreliable Digit-Hell is, that's also how incompetent their technical department and their hotline is. Having a system enhancement for 8 and a half hours is unacceptable, scheduling it right after a supposed Network Outage is never acceptable in my book. That's how rotten their system is and any enhancement's not gonna change it.

Susan Boyle's Final Performance (Runner Up)

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

I just found out last night from the news that Susan Boyle lost in the Britain's Got Talent competition. It's sad but it's heart warming that whatever happened to her, whatever fame has made to her to be, she's still the sweet and charming Susan Boyle we've come to know.

Here is the video of her final performance.

Life After Call Center

Monday, June 1, 2009

It's been a roller coaster ride for years now.

My life had been nowhere in the call center industry, I initially thought I'd make it big, but I didn't. Many did say that I'm good at what I do, I personally believe that, but when I start taking my chances in moving to another position, I'd lose it, they'd say that I'm not good enough or I'm not ready to be promoted. When these depressive moments strike I'd usually give up, moving on to a new center is my next option, which in my opinion had never resolved my issues. It's been a vicious cycle, striving to be promoted, failing and falling apart, move on again to another center.

Until, I made a choice of working from home and chilling from home, I first thought I wouldn't make it, I'll get bored doing the things I never thought I'd do, but I was wrong, this online industry saved me from my call center addiction. True to my cyber friends' words, working from home does make a difference, financially and emotionally. It's draining because you have to keep up above the rest who does the same, you have to upgrade your skills once in a while but you do all of these while at the comfort of my own home, so why not right?

So, this is my story, from an addicting life in the call center to a fulfilled journey towards happiness in working from home. Indeed, there are choices outside the industry I used to love, there is life after call center.

Poker Face

Saturday, May 30, 2009

It's kinda weird when people think I'm a snob, when I just look at them without any expression on my face. This song reflects me, reflects who I am.

This song has been on air for ages yet I just realized that I love it, especially now that I'm emotionally drained, I'll give you a poker face.

I Love You Goodbye

Good morning, it's already 1:27 AM from the corner of our office. I started out my day with not much anticipation, just another busy day, whole day of work does stresses me a lot.

Until I let myself relax a bit and scrolled Youtube for nice videoke songs that I love singing with. Voila, this video struck me the most, I know, I'm so emotional right now, and can't think right. I'm so drained, for some reason that I don't really know.

So, here, let me share with you a video of a very emotional rendition of I Love You Goodbye, originally sang by Celine Dion.

Graduation from Rabies (for now, wink wink)

Thursday, May 28, 2009

This post is a few days late, it was supposed to be posted last Saturday but I have so many things to do that day and the days after it. I'm so happy that finally, I get to complete my 5 dosage of anti-rabies, though I'm not comfortable around syringes and doctors but I was able to conquer my fear and patiently followed the doctor's instructions, and Jeff's as well (arrggghhh). As a graduation gift, the doctor gave me a yellow mug with the ABC's(Animal Bite Center) logo at the back. I'll post the picture some other time. However, the scar of what Aia did to me is still visible and I don't think it'll disappear anytime soon. Geeezz... I'm tired.. better get back to work..

Confirmation of our Palawan Adventure

Friday, May 22, 2009

My college friends made plans last year that we'll go to Palawan this December. However, it seems Irish won't be home from Dubai till next year, Jona and I are not communicating, err.. not in good terms and Thet will be leaving for Chicago after her wedding. So, I just thought that we'll have to make other plans instead of going to Palawan, we'll probably try Bora, but I still have to discuss this with Jeff.

After a small chitchat with Joms yesterday in Trinoma I found out that she and her husband already booked for a Palawan trip on December on a promo from Cebu Pacific. She convinced me to check the flight is still available and I just nodded, thinking that the promo might have just ended and I won't be able to get seats for us.

Early today while preparing for lunch, Jeff reminded me of my conversation with Joms, I checked the site and tried to get flight informations and voila, it's still available. Apparently, to my dismay, I don't have any credit cards, one of the things I don't get to have because of being a freelancer. Good thing Joms let me use her CC to purchase two round trip tickets to Palawan, and we'll be seated right at their back. And it's confirmed, we'll be leaving on December 3 and be back to Manila on December 5. I'm hoping the trip will be fun..

Kiko is Punished

It's Friday morning and I started our really early. I always wake up at 6 AM and I don't know why, it doesn't matter if I slept really late or earlier than my usual sleeping hours, I would always find myself waking up at 6 in the morning.

I remembered one thing from last night, I didn't feed my dogs. Why? Because I found them, especially Kiko smothering our trash. I knew it was Kiko all along because Aia never liked trash. I don't know what kind of environment Kiko grew from but it's really bothering me how he was treated before I took im.

I had to put his leash on as his punishment and I didn't feed both of them just to let them know who's the boss, I hope they realize that. I placed water where he could easily get it. He'll be on the leash for the next two days and I'm not gonna give in with his cries. I know he never liked being on his leash but what can a pet owner like me do, it's just one of the punishments I'm forced to do, he needs to learn his lesson... very well..

Glad to See Her Again

Thursday, May 21, 2009

After over 10 years I met Thet again. Thet is my college friend, together with Jomai, Irish and Jona. We've had so many memories together, apparently she had to leave for Chicago when her family migrated for better opportunities.

Years passed we never heard from Thet. The last few phone calls I had with her she mentioned that she's studying Bachelors in Nursing course, very far from our Engineering course.

Thanks to new technologies and the internet, we were able to communicate. Now, finally after more than 10 years we went out with her fiance, my husband and Jomai. I miss her so..

I'll be posting our pictures soon.. Congratulations and Best Wishes.

Happy Birthday MIL

Saturday, May 16, 2009

I was about to blog about Angels and Demons since Jeff and I watched it yesterday in Trinoma, on it's first showing day, however, I just felt so happy that I'll just have to greet my Mother-in-Law a Happy happy birthday. We picked them up in SM North Edsa after Angels and Demons and went straight home. It was fun. They today, we decided to take a dip in Villa Erlinda, which had been my weekly habit. It's unfortunate that Jonathan's not there, MIL's second son, but overall it's still fun to have them here. Again, Happy Birthday mom!

Plurker and Twitter

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I'm new in Twitter and Plurk, I heard it's one of the best social networking sites available, aside from FB, FS, Multiply and MySpace.

And as a new Plurker let me invite you to my Plurks.

And to my Twitter account.

Restaurant City - My Current Addiction

I've been so busy with a lot of things lately, including succumbing into my latest addiction, Restaurant City of Facebook. For months, most of my friendster friends sent request messages that I try FB, for some reason, I don't have the patience to create and maintain a new account aside from my blog and my FS account.

Recently, Jona mentioned that she's already a member and maintaining a pet in Pet Society, I still didn't give in. Just last week I saw in GT that there's a Restaurant City game within FB, I got so curious when I read through the posts of my fellow GT girls, it's a restaurant game that you have control over a lot of things. So, I joined FB and started playing the game last week. In the pic is my current status. I'm so loving it that the first thing I do in the morning is open my resto and feed my employees. After a week of addiction I'm at level 16 at nearing the 17th level with an additional employee.

So, why not join in.

One Fateful Saturday

Monday, May 4, 2009

Sometimes I wonder if it's a mistake caring for animals, is it something that I should be proud of, or is it just a curse?

I've always wanted a pet as a young kid. I would always tell mom to either buy me little birdies, puppies, cats, even chicks. I'm always fascinated by the fact that I can take care of them and grow them to be my pet, my only pet. Till I reached my high school years, I would always bring stray cats home and feed them, since then our neighbors would bring kitties to us thinking that we would adopt them too.

Upon reaching college, I brought at the least, 4 pups and only 2 survived. The last pet I brought to our home is a lhasa apso breed who really brought happiness to our home. When I moved out I started caring for bunnies, they are oh so cute, apparently, I wasn't ready for such responsibility. I had three, Yael died upon reaching his first month, Lola died and I wasn't there for her when she passed away. I blamed myself for their deaths, I wasn't always there for them, that's the problem. Jeff gave me another bunny, Ebe, because I wasn't ready for another one, Ebe became so sickly and malnourished, I decided to give him to a friend with his cage and all.

By the time he got me Ebe he also brought home Aia, my pet dog. Aia is such a baby, she would always bring the worse in me. One time when I was washing clothes, I left Aia in our sala so I could go out and finish washing our clothes, when I came back everything was in a mess. To my surprise, I nearly broke her leg out of anger. I would often blame my work because I can't find the time to feed her on time or even walk her in the morning. Aia became a headache, Jeff and I would always fight about her because she wasn't trained to poop and would really bite everything. I stood up for her because she's my baby, my only baby left. When we moved out of the house and transferred to a smaller house, I had the chance to train her. She's doing a lot better in pooping because I was there to train her, I already resigned that time.

We then moved to a new place, a better one, here in Bulacan. Now, Aia can move freely without being scolded. She can poop and pee anytime she wants to, I even got her a brother, Kiko, we just got him over a week ago.

Until that fateful Saturday, just three days ago. This stupid idea came to me that I should train Aia to go out without a leash. I let her walk out of the gate while I was carrying a big bag of trash, Jeff was just watching us. I tried calling her name so she could go back, to no avail. Aia just walked and walked without noticing me. It's as if she didn't know me at all. So, out of concern that she might get lost, I tried grabbing her collar, to my surprise she bit my hand. When I realized this, I pulled my hand from her mouth which made the wound even worse, it's at the least two inches long. As Jeff told me yesterday, I was so surprise that I couldn't say anything, I just stood there and watch Jeff hit Aia with something. I nearly cried, not because the wound was painful, but because I take care of Aia as I would've for a child, my child, and she bit me.

Jeff rushed me to an Animal Bite Center here in Marilao, I had to get shots again, for anti rabis and anti tetanus. We spent almost a thousand for the shots and I will have 4 more shots in the next couple of weeks. Aia is on her leash since Saturday and we have to observe if she'll die or something. Now, I don't know what to do with her. I still feed her, give her attention but instincts tell me that I shouldn't touch her, she might bite me again.

Caring for animals bring me joy but up to what extent should I care for them? I'm just lost right now.

Random Rants

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Sometimes it irks me that some people don't know how to value others. I pretty much did everything possible to make the event happy, but what do I get? Nada, instead, he asked for more. I was already feeling bad when I woke up yesterday morning, sick because of cough and my ear infection. Imagine having both, would you be okay with this? Still, I tried to cook that dreaded Pancit Canton while weeping in pain. While cooking, I managed to clean the house and wash some clothes in between my much needed rest.

After nearly 4 hours of waiting for them, they arrived, and what did he say? "Nagsaing ka ba?" Just imagine that, I cooked Pancit and he's looking for rice, infront of their visitors. One of the many things I hate about him, his insensitivity. Oh, and one more thing, what does he think of my brother, a house maid who'll always wash the dishes for us when he's here? Duh, you don't even pick up your things after you use them, it's your brother who does nothing here and yet I managed to stretch my budget for his freaking birthday, I don't even get that treatment when I was his age.

It was not my intention to go my mom's place yesterday, promise, it's just that I'm sick and tired of having confrontations and seeing him having fun while I'm literally sick and feeling bad about what happened. I didn't want to see him at least for an hour and besides he's got his brother and his friends accompanying him, what more could he ask for? When I came back, I was calm and speaking to him already, I even cooked fried chicken for dinner, why would I find a blog, blaming my family about it when all along, my mom didn't know what happened. She even asked me why I was there when it's my husband's brother's birthday.

I just hope you freaking realize what I'm ranting here.

One other thing, I just got myself another puppy last Friday, his name is Kiko, I would really want to name him Eki, it's cuter and suits him. Anyway, I'll post his pics once it gets uploaded, hopefully today.

New Look for the New Me

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

It's another year added to my already interesting life. Aside from the fact that each week I get to experience new things, I've also added a new look, actually more of cutting off a few inches on my very long hair. A couple of days before my 29th birthday, Jeff and I decided to get our hair cut. We went to F Salon and Spa in Meycauayan, Bulacan. It's my first time to get my hair cut in that salon since I'm a fan of Reyes Haircutters, but since they murdered my nail the last time I went there, I vowed never to return again.

I was so anxious on what hairstyle would fit my long hair, then during the last minute before my turn on the hot seat I decided to have the short hair style. I thought it wouldn't suit me, because the last time I cut my hair short was more than 8 years ago, during college days. It wasn't looking good, so I thought. I just had it straightened last February, exactly one week before my wedding, so I'm more concerned that the hair style wouldn't fit me.

However, after roughly 15 - 20 minutes, voila, my hair looks better than my long hair. It's a lot manageable and it's not so heavy anymore. It's as if the hairstylist took some weight off my head. Now, I'm happier and excited to get headbands and clips to style it more.

A Happy Birthday?

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Guess what? I'm officially 29 years old. You might think I'm too old, but I still feel young, not physically though. Probably because I missed a lot during my younger years that I only get to explore a lot things when I turned 25 up. This is supposed to be a happy birthday blog, but things do happen when you least expect them. Anyway, I still have 24 hours to turn things 180 degrees turn. I do hope it'll turn out to be a happy birthday for me.

It's quite cold tonight because of the rain, earlier today, it was damn too hot. I was drying our washed clothes outside when the heavy rain poured, so sorry for me, I have to wash them again because they got soaked pretty bad.

I didn't eat rice tonight, I just ate Tuna and a few slices of bread, just enough till I wake tomorrow morning. Aia ate some left over rice from yesterday's meal and a serving of her dog food.

I would really love to take a dip, it's so hot during the day and I think the weather's killing me. I hate summer.

Hubby and I got into an argument. I'm not happy about it and I'm getting frustrated.

Oh well, still, happy birthday to me..

Ted's Wife Died of Suicide

Saturday, April 18, 2009

My husband and I were so busy last Wednesday because it was Lola's birthday. Since she was in UERM we went there and brought some food. That was a very busy day because we had to rush to Puregold to buy some groceries.

Upon reaching home we turned on the TV and voila, Ted Failon is on the news. Literally, he's the news, apparently, his wife attempted to kill herself. Ofcourse, when someone is killed or found dying at home, especially with a gun shot wound, definitely, the suspects would be the people living there.

There were so many speculations about the case, initially, I read somewhere that the couple (Ted and Trina) were seen having a heated argument in the car and Ted accidentally shot her using his licensed gun. Then the scenarios changed when police reported that Trina was found in their eldest daughter's bathroom in a pool of blood. The police found some loopholes that Ted might be covering up for a crime, not an attempted suicide.

Ted also mentioned in his interview that he didn't finish him morning Teleradyo because he's so worried that his wife won't leave their eldest daughter's room and he instincts probably told him that there's something bad that happened to his wife. Upon reaching their home he went to their kitchen and talked to their maid and drank a glass of water, headed upstairs to check his wife, when he found it locked, he asked his maid to get the key to the room. He checked the room and his wife wasn't there, he tried to check the bathroom but again, it was locked from the inside. He asked his maid again for the key, when they (Ted and Carlota) opened the bathroom, they both saw Trina, on the floor in a pool of blood.

As a normal loving husband that he is, he immediately took Trina to their car, Pam came from the bank and saw them and went with them to the hospital. Ted requested, no police and no media, as this is a family issue that they have to deal with. They didn't bother informing the police, again, they thought they didn't have, or maybe, they didn't want the police get involved.

Trina fought for her life, for two days, she still tried to survive, knowing that Ted and her family are now being scrutinized by the police because of the incident. Until that Friday night, the police were trying to force Pam to go with them for further investigation, while at the ICU of New Era Hospital. Her siblings were forced to go to precinct because they won't go with them, they made a really big mess at the ICU of the hospital. Ted even mentioned that he wanted to go out but his attorney won't allow him.

I believe a few minutes after the sad event that night, Trina passed away, probably she can no longer stand the fact that her family is suffering so much because of her. Her eldest daughter Kaye felt very heart broken because of what happened to her mom and what the police is doing to her dad.

Now, some rumors have landed in Girltalk that the reason behind Trina's suicide was because of money issues, apparently, there's a 20M worth of life savings from Ted's earnings that Trina had lost. There were speculations that Trina was scammed and she lost everything they had.

Up to this point, there are other stories being brought up by DOJ Sec about a certain Mr. Lee, a businessman and a major sponsor of Wowowie, they said a text message was sent to DOJ's office that this Mr. Lee and Ted brought Trina's body to the bathroom from another room to make it look like suicide.

Here' are my thought about everything..

1. It is possible that Trina indeed committed suicide. The fact that everyone, friends, relatives, siblings had mentioned that Trina was showing signs of depression weeks before the tragic incident, meant that all of them believed she did it. I think if there's anyone who'd think that Ted is guilty, it would be their family and relatives. But where are they? They're beside Ted, supporting him all the way.

2. I believe that the QCPD showed a strong evidence of police brutality, on both accounts, when they "arrested" the maids and the driver and when they "arrested" the brother and sister of Trina. If they can do this to a high profile personality such as Ted's, what more to a regular Juan just like us.

3. I think that these policemen were only showing their power to Ted, I still believe that they are doing these for vengeance, they just found an opportunity to pin down Ted, this is the best time to get back to Ted for exposing them during the rubout issue last February.

4. Just a message for these people, if you think you can get away with the simple Juan's eyes, think again, everything you did were shown on public TV. You have acted way way wrong, way way far from what you're tasked to do. We (tax payers) are paying you to do your job, not to use your useless powers to someone who doesn't need it.

Just my POV.

Repost from Caleb's blog

Monday, April 13, 2009

This is what I found in Caleb's friendster blog. This is funny but true. So, read..

Your Cellphone is not a Boom Box

So you have a cellphone that can play music with this small screechy sound coming out of tiny speakers. Do you think you’re cool sitting in the back of the FX cause you have the latest MP3 of Flo-rider? Does it set your emotions on fire while you listen to Maria’s latest single with everyone in the elevator to hear?

Get headphones for goodness sake! There’s this cool not-so-new invention called an ipod which has replaced the walkman. My point is: Your cellphone is not a boom box. Dont make it into one. It’s extremely annoying to people around you no matter how popular the music you’re playing is. You’re just like the noisy scooter playing really loud music without the bass. It’s just worse cause at least they have a scooter.

My First Time to Swim

Saturday, April 11, 2009

It's Black Saturday and it's so hot, so out of no where just right after lunch we decided to take a dip on Villa Erlinda Pavillon again. My brother, Bebe and I went for a dip and it was so much fun than the first time. We didn't have to pay for a cottage since there's no more cottage left, and besides we didn't bring anything else aside from our towels.

I hadn't really had the chance to learn to swim. I mean, my dad would teach me before but it was very traumatic that I wouldn't want to be somewhere above 5 ft of water. Everytime we'd go to the beach or to a private pool, I'd just stay in a corner and just watch my friends swim like fishes.

I started the hour with just watching my brother and hubby goof around, then I tried to make my heavy but cute body float. It did, huwaw.. Then I tried it again, this time I opened my eyes in the water, the feeling was great. Then I tried flapping my feet, it worked. Then I used my hands, I moved a little.

Hubby noticed it and started teaching me a thing or two with swimming, I followed. I was so happy that I was able to move and swim a three meter range. This might be so easy for other people but for me it's an accomplishment.

It's the best thing that ever happened to me this week and for sure I'll try my best to learn more tricks in swimming. Though I find it tiring, I bet it's a good exercise for someone as big as me. You should try it too..

Family Bonding at the Pool

It was March 29 when my family visited our new home, in the afternoon we dipped in to the nearby resort, Villa Erlinda, which is just a few meters from our home. Everyone's happy with our mini bonding.

Happy Anniversary to Moi

It's been a year since I became a freelancer. First, it was more of a part time gig, a small time career. But then I saw the bigger picture, a more income generating career.

I first saw the opportunity in Girltalk, read a few threads, which took me around two weeks to finish in the office. Saw a few fellow Girltalkers that are into freelancing and i followed their instructions. I signed up, completed my profile and took some tests, applied for several jobs and voila, after two weeks of patiently waiting I finally got a job. It required me 40 hours a week, so, after my 9-hour shift at Dell Libis, I'd go straight home and work overtime for 4-5 hours a day, and during my day off, roughly 10-12 hours. It was stressful, but it was rewarding.

After sometime I finally got an opportunity to work full time, got additional part time jobs and another full time. I had to let go of my career as a Technical Support Senior Assistant in Dell Libis to give way to a new career, a better opportunity, a greener pasteur. I've let go a career that most people have never experienced, but in a way, I'm happy, because now, I'm the boss of my own business.

And as a celebration of my new found career, I'd like to invite you to my chosen path. Just send me a buzz if you're interested. Happy freelancing to us. Happy Anniversary to me.

Missing out some of my friends

Monday, April 6, 2009

Lately, life seems so perfect. We're in a perfect home, we may have a few problems but so far everything's running smoothly. Until a few minutes ago, I browsed through my friendster profile, checked out all the testimonials, yes, all 141 of them. I was teary-eyed when I finished down to the very first testimonial from Faith. Then I realized, I miss my friends, the old to the new ones. I miss the true friendship we shared, not just at work but with everything.

I still remember my high school friends, college buddies and work mates. I also miss the people I met in between. They know who they are and believe me, I really miss them. Browsing through my friendster profile made me think, is moving to Marilao a really good choice? I'm so far from my friends yet living a good life.

I miss Michelle from highschool, who now lives in San Juan, I miss her sister too. I miss Jomai, Jona, Thet and Irish from college, they're the dearest to me. I miss Faithy, my Etel best buddy, Mama Sacha, Amor, Jex, Caleb, all of my team members in Swordfish, miss you guys. I miss Sharon and Precious, my cool friends in Sykes. I miss Titser Jo and all of my batchmates in Convergys. I miss Pao, Joy and Pansay, and all my boys in Siemens. I miss Bang, Asia, Joel and everyone in Dell. Now, I only work, eat, sleep with my hubby. No qualms about it, but I really get sad at times.

So, just a simple message to everyone, I miss you guys.

Earth Hour

Saturday, March 28, 2009

What activities can you sacrifice even for just an hour? I pledge not to use my computer (which is the source of my income) for one whole hour to support The Earth Hour. I'd turn off our lights and my ever reliable PC to help save mother Earth.

Let's all give an hour of our busy lives to mother Earth, remember to turn off your lights tonight, 8:30 PM till 9:30 PM (March 28, 2009).

My First French Toast

Friday, March 27, 2009

I had this crazy idea the other night about a new business opportunity. See, when we moved here our loading business is not earning much compared when we were in Pasig. For almost two weeks here we only had one customer asking for a load. So, I decided to change our business strategy, instead of focusing ourselves in the loading business why not add a mini resto business. Our garage is so big that it can fit two cars, since we don't have a car yet why waste the space, right?

For starters I'll serve gourmet sandwiches that I really love preparing but never had the time to do so. I will also serve fries and finger food like chicken wings and nachos. For the drinks, I was thinking I would never serve softdrinks, instead, I'll serve fruit shakes and gulaman and sago, then if the business grow bigger then probably I'd serve frappucino just like what starbucks' offer.

I'm just at the dreaming stage, but then hubby made me realize it would take time before we get to that stage. First, I'd need a bigger fridge, a table for my toaster, blender and microwave oven, ofcourse I'd need a table and some chairs for the customers. Thinking about it, I'd probably save first and buy the stuff before really pushing through with my plans.

So, for now, I prepared my first French Toast, I liked it but it needs more improvement, and if I'm really serious about this business I should perfect the art of making sandwiches, French Toast including.

Dell Pasay bought by Teleperformance

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I'm just at awe when I heard this story from GirlTalk that Dell Pasay was sold to Teleperformance to a whopping amount of 200+ Million Pesos.

I used to work Dell Libis, spent over a year as a DOC agent and I can say that next to Etelecare, Dell handled their employees pretty well. It's been a year since I resigned and I still can't believe it because the last time I went to Dell Pasay was when I took my final pay, it was back in November last year.

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about Dell Philippines getting bankrupt and all, but I never thought that they would actually sell Dell Pasay, as many asked, "why Teleperformance?".

Now the next question is: What will happen to Dell Libis?

Orbit Xylitol Food Tour

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I was just browsing my friendster pics, going back the memory lane after a tiring walk in SM Marilao, when I saw my Orbit Xylitol Food Tour album, until I remembered, this post is due last year but I didn't get the chance to post it because I was probably so busy working.

Anyway, it all started with the only forum I had the patience to join in to, GirlTalk. There's this thread where you can get so many freebies here and abroad. Someone posted a link where I can just register online and wait till I win something. It was supposedly free lunch for two but I didn't really expect anything. After a couple of weeks somebody called me informing me that I won in their contest and I should submit some documents to confirm my identity. At that time I could not remember a thing, until they mentioned Orbit Xylitol which rang a bell. I did send the documents they needed and my hubby's. By the way you can find the list of winners here, luckily they still have it on their site.

I waited for nearly a week until that Saturday came, I can't remember the exact date though. Hubby and I went to Serendra in Bonifacio Streets without expecting anything. There was a registration infront of Cuillere and some photoshoot. We even hesitated to order at first thinking that they might ask us to pay for our drinks, since the first stop was just Milkshake. Until they served the milkshake, we got surprised when they served the Tenderloin Tips, Croque Madame for appetizers, Codfish Croquettes and the best milkshake on earth, the Carabao Milkshake.

After a very sumptuous meal at Cuillere we were then brought to Makati, where the Steak Room is waiting for us. Actually when we reached the Steak Room I no longer have the room for the biggy steak they offered but I still gave it after looking at the price list of their steaks and finding out that a single slice of their steak costs nearly 2K pesos, just imagine a once in a lifetime chance to eat there. They also served salad, which tastes like ginger, and the soup which they called onion soup but doesn't taste like onion at all.

After a great time in Steak Room we were brought to a wine pairing at Galileo Enotica. I enjoyed their wine, cold cuts and their cheese, but since I was so full I never had the chance to drink more than a glass of red wine. I just enjoyed the somehow "Food Party" provided by Wrigley's and the coverage of the Lifestyle Channel. I also got the chance to see the commercial from our cable TV.

Thanks Wrigley's for such a wonderful time with all the free food. Till the next food trip.

Aia's Kakulitan

It's been a week yesterday since we moved to the new house. Instead of celebrating it we started out the day with Aia's kakulitan. It started out when last Sunday I noticed that I can't let her roam the garage because she can easily get out through the small openings in the gate.

So, what I did, I placed the plastic bubble wrap I used for the computer and cover all the small openings in the gate so she won't get out. Until yesterday she managed to take them down.

As part of her "parusa", while I'm giving her a bath I put a "sipit" on her ears and tail. I initially placed them where she could easily get them off. Until late in the afternoon I noticed that she no longer wags her tail and around 7 PM I noticed blood on the floor. I checked her out without touching her tail and I noticed that there's still one left on her tail near the "pwet".

We tried everything we can to get it off but I guess it hurts really bad that she attempts to bite off anyone's hand who touches her tail. Upon seeing the blood, I got really scared that it might be due the "sipit" I put her. My brother and I hurriedly brought her to the nearest vet outside the village and they gladly openned for us though it's a little late.

There, Aia got angry whenever we try to place a muzzle on her mouth, she would really attempt to get the leash out of her and run away, good thing the clinic is really big. We couldn't even get her weight because she would strangle every time we do it.

Because we are running out of options I decided to ask the nurse if it's okay to sedate a dog. She called the doctor to ask for an opinion and so we did. It was hard to keep her calm and that's our only option. We waited for sometime, as the nurse would tell her "wag mo nang labanan". After around 10 minutes she's already calm and we easily placed the muzzle on her face and finally, we got the "sipit" off her tail.

We checked her tail and found the wound quite far from where the "sipit" is. I believe since she can't reach the "sipit", she just bites her tail to somehow ease the discomfort of the "sipit". The nurse put betadine on the wound and because Aia's dozed off I had to carry her back home.

Lesson learned for me, I promise to never put anything to Aia and endanger her life. I love her so much and I'd give anything to keep her longer. She's my companion and my baby.

Finally, Moved...

Sunday, March 15, 2009

After a very hectic and tiring move, we are now in Bulacan, finally, whew.. It's as if we traveled all the way to Baguio from Manila with so much excess baggage, hehe. The place is far from the convenient Pasig, far from the very busy streets of Mercedes and San Miguel, but I can say it's all worth it.

We are now situated in our very own home, with a two car garage, our very own huge room, great kitchen, and a lavatory. Really really nice. We've already spent our first 24 hours here and so far all we had we're just minor issues. We'll be able to set up our internet connection pretty soon.
